PHU QUY ISLAND – A PEACEFUL HEAVEN YOU MUST VISIT ONCE IN YOUR LIFE

To the East – Southeast direction from Phan Thiet, passing 56 miles, you will see an island with a very interesting shape in the middle of the East Sea.
Looking from the east of the island, we see the island emerging like a dragon rolling on the water with sea waves. From the north of the island, it looks like a mackerel and if viewed from the southwest, it can be imagined as a giant whale emerging from the water.

From Internet

Phu Quy (also known as “Thu” islet or “Khoai Xu” islet) is a small island with an area of about 16 square kilometers of Binh Thuan province. 4 things you MUST do when travelling to Phu Quy, if not you will definitely feel regret. BELIEVE ME!

1. PICTURESQUE SCENE
Sunset and sunrise are one of the “specialties” of the sea and islands, and of course, Phu Quy is no exception. For tourists who have been to Phu Quy, there are many beautiful sunset and sunrise spots on the island, such as “Ngu Phung” embankment, “Thay Nai” palace, “Trieu Duong” bay, etc.

However, the most beautiful and favorite sunset viewing spot is at the mountain top Linh Son Pagoda. Because from here you can zoom out to see the distant scenery, where when the sun goes down, it will form dark orange shades in the sky, looking very spectacular. Because it is still wild and has not been exploited so much for tourism, the beach here is quite empty, the sea water is clear. You can comfortably swim, lie on the sand watching the sea, enjoy the fresh air of nature.

From Hung

One of the best things you can’t miss is exploring Phu Quy on a motorbike.
You can easily rent at your homestay or hotel with about 120.000 – 150.000 NVD per day.
Without renting a small boat to walk around the small islands, your trip to Phu Quy cannot be considered complete. Phu Quy has a number of islands such as: “Hon Tranh”, “Hon Den”, “Hon Trung”, … Sitting on a boat, you can clearly see the blue of the sea here, because the water is so clear that you can see the bottom. You can easily rent a small boat at the harbor for about 300.000 – 400.000 VND depending on the number of people sitting on it.

2. ENJOY FRESH SEAFOOD WITH BEST PRICE
When going to the island, of course, seafood is a dish that most tourists cannot ignore. In Phu Quy, the best dish is “Huynh De” crab.
Unlike other common crabs, “Huynh De” crab is large and plump, approximately 500g – 1kg/crab. At first glance, it looks like a giant spider, with fringed hair, two claws raised like a “swallow beak” but has a round “back” and a lovely red-pink body. Because of its rarity and nutrition, “Huynh De” crab had been selected as a dish to give to the King in ancient times. It will take you about 350.000 – 400.000 VND per kilogram to enjoy it.

3. VIEW ONE OF THE LARGEST WHALE SKELETON IN VIETNAM

Phu Quy has nearly 30 cultural relics with many different types of beliefs. However, the most prominent is Van An Thanh (in Trieu Duong village, Tam Thanh commune) built in 1781 and is the “museum” of whales on the island.

From Internet

According to local legends, whales, also known as “Ong” fish, have saved fishermen and boats many times. Many fishermen here once saved by “Ong” fish are still living on the island. And all the people here respect the “Ong” fish very much.
Therefore, when the “Ong” fish died and washed up on the beach of Phu Quy, the local people held a very solemn burial. Every year there is a Nghinh Ong festival. Visiting the showroom of Mr. Hai Nam’s bones at Van An Thanh, you will have the opportunity to see a whale skeleton nearly 20m long, which is also one of the largest whale skeletons in Vietnam.

4. VISIT GIANT WIND POWER

“Wind power” are big fans built to generate electricity to serve the people on the island. There are 3 wind fans on the island, each one with the height of 60m, and the length of the propeller is 37m. From the lighthouse and the mountain top of Linh Son Pagoda, you can easily see these giant fans. Especially, the way to visit these windmills is very beautiful, one side is the sea, the other side is the poplar rows.

If you want to experience above things, don’t hesitate to pack your suitcase and go to Phu Quy right away.

DA BIA MOUNTAIN – A DESTINATION YOU CAN’T MISS IN PHU YEN

Da Bia is a famous mountain in Phu Yen province, which is in the middle of Vietnam. If you go to Phu Yen, you should spend some time to explore it. With fantastic and breaktaking scene, it will definitely be an ideal place to help you have an unforgettable trip.

From the Internet

Da Bia mountain or “Thach Bi Son” is located in Hoa Xuan Nam commune, Dong Hoa district, about 27 km from Tuy Hoa city. It is the highest mountain of “Ca” pass. It is associated with a heroic historical period of our nation.

Under the Le dynasty, King Le Thanh Tong marched through the Cu Mong area and gradually moved to the south to Dai Lanh mountain. Then, he chose the highest mountain, Da Bia, to engrave words on the top of it. That was the reason why Da Bia was considered a border landmark which made the history of Dai Viet in the past.

The Ê–Đê people have a legend that Da Bia mountain was formed by the death of the third wife of King Cham Porome, Mrs. Kut H’Phil, buried here. The grave was raised up into the mountain.

When the French came to Vietnam, they named Da Bia mountain with the name “God’s finger”. Because if you see “Ca” Pass from the sea, you can see that Da Bia mountain is like a finger pointing to the sky. And people will base on it to orient their boats.

A special feature of Da Bia Mountain is that with each viewing point, we can see Da Bia with different shapes. For example, if viewed from the top of the mountain, Da Bia will look like a majestic lion; viewed from Bai Xep, it will look like a sitting person. From the side of Hoa Tam school, you will see the picture of a sitting Buddha. The peak of the mountain is covered by layers of white clouds all year round, which creates a magical and magical view.

The best time to visit Da Bia Mountain is in the early morning. You can find the way to get there by Google Maps. It is not difficult at all. You should buy some snacks, water and fruits for your trekking. To reach the top of Da Bia Mountain, every one has to walk about 2,000 steps with stairs from 30 to 50 centimeters high, and there will be some wooden bridges among large rocks.

The total time for getting to the mountain top is about 2 hours and maybe the same for you return. At first, many stairs can make you exhausted and tired but the higher you go, the cooler the air becomes, helping you gradually forget all tiredness and even stimulate your conquering spirit.

Along the way, you will also see a fairy landscape with rows of old trees growing around the two sides of the road, strange wildflowers racing to flutter in the wind.

The closer you are to the top, the more overwhelmed you feel by the beauty of heaven and earth. The whole Phu Yen will appear in front of you. Blue color always brings comfort and relaxation to the soul, so coming to this place ensures that all your hard work and exhaustedness will be blown away with each wind.

Many years have passed, but Da Bia Mountain is still the same. lt is still standing there as proof of our heroic history. And it also waits for thousands of visitors from all over the country to come and enjoy the beauty given by mother nature as well as learn about the history of our nation.
